Dog Training
My Story
Why choose me?
Ace Adventures NT was born from the journey with my German Shepherd, Ace (Sarskilda Perseus) (BH-VT, PDC) once a reactive dog, now a titled competitor in obedience, protection sports, and IGP. His transformation taught me that patience, love, and the right training can turn challenges into triumphs. At Ace Adventures NT, I bring that same care and belief to every dog, helping them shine as the best version of themselves.
A good trainer sees the dog in front of them as an individual, not just as a case study or a chance to prove a point. They consider the dog’s personality, history, needs, and emotional well-being. They’ll adapt their methods to what actually helps your dog learn, feel safe, and thrive, rather than sticking rigidly to a single philosophy or tool just to satisfy opinions.
So when you’re choosing a trainer, don’t get caught up in the noise. Look for the person who listens to you, understands your dog, and makes decisions based on what will truly benefit them—not what will win an argument online.
Having lived with a reactive dog myself, I understand how overwhelming it can feel when every approach seems to clash and nothing seems to work. That experience taught me something important: effective training isn’t about following a single philosophy or debating which method is “right.” It’s about doing what’s fair, clear, and compassionate for the dog in front of you.In my work, I focus on balance - rewarding the behaviours we want more of, removing rewards when a dog is pushy or unsafe, and using clear boundaries or corrections when needed. I build trust, helping dogs feel calmer, safer, and more connected with their people.
